Dr. Carroll’s short book gives an excellent, well-researched summary of the history of Baptists through the centuries. Although he did not live to see his work’s success, it has been through many printings and is quite widely read in most Christian circles.
Dr Carroll also included a study on the impact certain other denominations have made on history.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: James Milton Carroll (1852-1931) was an American Baptist pastor, leader, historian, author, and educator. He was the pastor for a time of at least six different churches, and was also the founding president of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK, later becoming the president of a Texas university.
All of these offices, and several others, enabled him to research and compile all the information necessary to write The Trail of Blood.
